Transparent Pricing

How every invoice breaks down metal, making charge, stones and GST — with a worked example.

Every invoice we issue separates four numbers, printed individually rather than folded into a single figure. This is deliberate — it’s the only way you can actually compare one jeweller’s price to another’s, or check a piece’s resale value later.

The four components

  1. Metal value — the piece’s net gold weight, multiplied by that day’s published rate for the stated purity (22K, 18K, or 14K).
  2. Making charge — a flat percentage of the metal value, varying by how the piece is made: roughly 8% on a machine-linked chain, up to 22% on hand-raised repoussé or fully hand-set polki work.
  3. Stone value — diamonds and gemstones priced against their certificate, listed separately from the metal.
  4. GST — 3% on the total, as per current Indian tax law on jewellery.

A worked example

Take a fictional 22K gold chain weighing 20 grams, with the day’s rate at ₹7,400/gram:

Metal (20g × ₹7,400)₹1,48,000
Making charge (8%)₹11,840
Subtotal₹1,59,840
GST (3%)₹4,795
Total₹1,64,635

Gross weight vs net gold weight

Your invoice states both. Gross weight is the full physical weight of the piece, stones and findings included. Net gold weight is just the gold content — the number we use for the metal calculation above, and the number our buyback policy is based on.

Why the rate changes daily

Gold is a traded commodity, and its rate moves every business day. We post the morning’s 22K and 18K rate in-store and will confirm it to you directly on WhatsApp before you commit to a purchase — nothing is priced against yesterday’s number.
